In March 2024, we had the opportunity to travel to the unique Finnish Lapland for Thijs and Romira’s wedding. For five days, we documented their winter wedding week, set amidst a snow-covered landscape and with temperatures hovering around -25 degrees.
For their wedding, they chose a customized package that included not only a photo shoot but also an extended wedding video and a 2-minute trailer. You can watch this short highlight reel below.

For five days, Michiel and Karlijn were part of our group as we traveled to Finnish Lapland to exchange our vows. They captured the experience on video and in photos, and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. Throughout the entire trip, they captured moments that we now relive and cherish together. These are beautiful moments and candid shots—we often didn’t even realize they were taking these photos, which makes the result all the more delightful and lovely.
We specifically didn’t want too many static shots, and that’s exactly what we got. Communication leading up to the shoot went smoothly, and they were a delightful addition to the group. Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been a wedding photographer/videographer?
The first wedding I captured was my sister's in 2009. I enjoyed this so much that I decided I wanted to make this my work and so my second wedding followed shortly after. In the period that followed, I continued my studies at the FotoAcademie to further develop myself as a photographer and also filmed my first wedding in 2014. After years of multiple jobs combined with capturing weddings, I have now been a fully independent wedding photographer for several years and am doing the work I dreamed of in 2009.
Do you also record weddings abroad?
Sure! I have captured several weddings in countries like Italy, Germany, France or Finland, but no country is too crazy. For weddings abroad I make a custom quote as the total cost depends on several factors. This way you know exactly where you stand and we capture your wedding in the best possible way.
How does the photo+video package work? Do you do this alone or together?
With the photo+video packages, I will basically come by myself to capture your wedding. I came up with the combination of photo+video about 8 years ago by using multiple cameras and quickly switching between the two disciplines. In this way I have now captured over a hundred weddings and can offer an affordable package that allows you to receive both a full photo shoot and a wedding video. Since a number of years I also offer the additional option to choose a second shooter. Together, we create even more footage which provides not only a larger photo reportage, but also more flexibility in making the video.
Is it necessary to take a second shooter?
A second shooter is not a must, but definitely recommended! When you choose this option, the photo shoot will be at least 1.5 times larger and moments will be captured from different angles. When you choose the photo + video package, there is also more flexibility to use extras such as aerial images with a drone or audio recordings of speeches.
Are you working with a regular second shooter?
Yes, I work with a team of regular second photographers. Since we’ve photographed many weddings together, we work together seamlessly!
How long will you/stay at the wedding?
The most important aspect of the Photo+Video and Platinum packages is that we strive to capture a complete picture of the day. This doesn’t mean we have to be there literally from start to finish. That’s why, with the Photo+Video packages and the Platinum package, I’m on-site for a maximum of 12 hours. With the Signature Edition package, this is even included for up to 14 hours. For example, I often start toward the end of the preparations so that I can capture the final touches of the makeup, and I stay until sometime during the reception. If a second shooter is chosen, they are usually present for a maximum of 8 hours. This ensures that both of us capture the most important moments of the day. The exact end times are always decided in consultation. For example, if you’re ending the evening with sparklers or fireworks and would like to have that captured as well, we’ll discuss the options together, and it may be possible to purchase additional hours.
How much travel expenses should I consider?
Travel expenses are €0.40 per kilometer, calculated from Bilthoven. Any parking fees will be billed separately. If you opt for a second shooter, the second shooter’s travel expenses will also be added to the total.
Can I choose the music for our wedding video myself?
Yes, that’s definitely possible! I personally have a subscription to a database full of royalty-free music that I’m allowed to use for my work. But if you have a specific song you’d like to use, that’s certainly possible. Just keep in mind that the video cannot officially be used on social media, for example, or that the website where you post the video may remove the music. It’s also possible to add an extra social media edit for €350 alongside the video, featuring the highlights of the day set to royalty-free music. That way, you can share it on social media! This extra trailer is included in the Platinum package.

Ho Chun and My Diep’s wedding began with traditional Chinese customs, including a tea ceremony with both families. It was a special and personal start to the day, in which culture and tradition were clearly evident.
Together with my second shooter, Joyce, I had the pleasure of capturing this wedding. Later, the rest of the day took place at the beautiful Slot Zeist, where they celebrated their love in a stylish and relaxed setting. They chose the Platinum package, which included not only the photo shoot but also a trailer and a 5–7-minute wedding video. The full video can be viewed below.
